Professional Goals
I have known from a very early age that I wanted to pursue a life long career in education. My career began as a school teacher, but after being involved in offering professional development workshops to my colleagues I realized that developing educators impacts students. I then began to look at options of how I could contribute to education in ways that had bigger impact. One such immediate goal was returning to graduate school. Participating in a three year research study recently as a co - PI, has really got me interested in research. An ideal position that would match my career goals would be a combination of teaching, research and community involvement. It is not easy to find advertised positions that include all three components in the job description. Below are examples of advertised positions that I would be interested in applying for. Being a faculty member provides a unique opportunity to engage in teaching, research and outreach.
